CRUISE TOURS TO ALASKA
Alaska cruises have become one of the most favorite ways to travel to Alaska and are truly a trip of a lifetime.
Alaska Cruise tours range from 10-17 nights and generally sell for a higher price than the Caribbean or other popular cruise destinations.
Alaska cruises are amongst the most popular travel packages worldwide today because they take avacationist through a phenomenal scenic adventure of the pristine wilderness. They will make someone feel as if he has moved to an outer world where difficulties and fears do not exist.
By and large the cruises are divided into two types: Inside Passage cruises and Gulf of Alaska cruises. The Inside Passage has been the conventional way to cruise Alaska, with almost ships sailing round-trip from Vancouver or Seattle, through glacier country as far north as Skagway or Juneau.
Gulf of Alaska cruises cover more territory as they go from Vancouver through the Inside Passage and up to Seward/Anchorage (or the reverse). Vancouver is rated one of the top 10 destination cities of the world. A lot of cruise ship passengers end up staying a couple of days at various
accommodations and explore this fantastic metropolis. In 2008 - like in the years before - the Port of Vancouver offers more ships and departure dates than any other port.
Limousine tour companies are tied up all through the cruise ship season with lunch and dinner tours.Nearly all cruises will have one or two black-tie evenings a week. Gentlemen are expected to wear a dark suit or dinner jacket
(You will be able to rent them onboard). Women should wear an evening dress (long or short) or a dressy trouser suit. For more informal evenings women can show up with silky tops and trousers. Many cruise lines offer affordable pre- and post-cruise hotel programs that give you the chance to experience some of the local attractions like the Space Need and the Pike's Market in Seattle or the Butchart Gardens in Vancouver.
